Our Dive Center
We Go to Great Depths to Make Your Diving Fun!
Dive Oahu, a PADI Five Star Instructor Development Center, has been serving Oahu’s dive community for over 25 years and has developed a reputation for excellence, earning several PADI awards. We have two on site Course Directors and several senior Master Instructors and IDC Staff Instructors actively teaching students at all levels. Our main dive center is located on Hickam Air Force base at 1122 Vickers Street, Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH). It is an 800 square foot facility that includes a retail showroom, technician service room, and a half-Olympic size pool. We have a large retail outlet at The Naval Exchange, 4725 Bougainville Drive, Honolulu, and we offer training at our Discovery Bay dive center at 1178 Ala Moana Boulevard, Honolulu. Our location gives us a unique opportunity to conduct year round training at several exciting dive sites around the Island of Oahu. Our students gain experience in various conditions including shore and boat diving, drift diving, and deep wrecks and shallow reefs. Occasionally, students travel to neighboring islands to conduct training dives while enjoying beautiful tropical dive locations with diverse underwater habitats of coral reefs, lava tubes, caves and caverns, sandy bottoms, walls, and basalt boulders.
Regardless of economic trends, the scuba industry has continued to expand on a global scale. This has created a large demand for professionally trained instructors and technicians to fill roles in all areas of the industry, and qualified individuals are in high demand in many regions. Dive Oahu’s GoPro Professional Development programs prepare you for a career in the diving industry.
Dive Oahu is a premier PADI Five Star IDC offering a full range of PADI scuba diving instruction, PADI Professional training, and comprehensive PADI Continuing Education programs to ensure divers at all levels have the opportunity to advance their skills and knowledge. Dive Oahu fully supports Project Aware and encourages aquatic environmental responsibility in the local community and region.
Our staff focuses on training safety. We follow the PADI Quality Management Process and are proud of our excellent safety record.
While training with us, you will be challenged, but at the same time have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. We maintain low instructor to student ratios and make learning fun. At Dive Oahu, Inc. we are not only active instructors but we dive what we teach and are very active divers.
Meet Our Course Directors
Brian took his first open water dive in Arizona in 2001 and went on to become a PADI professional in 2011. Brian continued his education and earned the coveted PADI Course Director rating in 2015 and won the Silver Course Frequent Trainer Award in his first year as a PADI Course Director. My missions are simple; provide the best quality education through the PADI system of diver education so that every diver feels confident and comfortable underwater to truly enjoy what the underwater realm has to offer.
Scott has been a certified diver since 1996, and he has been a PADI Professional since 2008. He became a PADI Course Director in 2016 after 7 years of teaching over 500 people how to safely enjoy the underwater world. Scott is passionate about diving, teaching, and protecting the island’s underwater environment so others can experience what he has for over 20 years. He was PROJECT AWARE’s featured member in January 2016 and recognized for active dive site cleanups around the island of Oahu. Scott’s known for a big smile and talking with his hands while teaching – a good thing for an instructor!
